There is a new online contractor database available that should help government officials find responsible contractors. It consists of public information and documents on over 5,200 businesses known to bid on public works projects.   Generally, state agencies, counties, cities, villages, towns and other public entities must award public works projects to the lowest responsible bidder. Now they’ll have the information they need to make an informed decision.
