Congratulations and best wishes to Skylar Witte, the youngest contestant in the upcoming Miss USA competition in Las Vegas. Skylar, 19, is Miss Wisconsin USA, and the granddaughter of retired Operating Engineer Harvey Witte. Harvey is a former rank-and-file member of the Local 139 Executive Board.

“Skylar has always been someone who sets goals. The most important part is she has the courage to chase them,” Harvey said. “Whatever the goal may be – school, dance, work, or Miss Wisconsin USA – she is 100 percent committed.

“She has the dedication and willpower to keep at it. She is an amazing young lady and we can’t wait to see what happens next.”

The Fox network will broadcast the final competition live from the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas beginning at 6 p.m. Wisconsin time on Sunday, May 14.
