| The membership of Operating Engineers Local 139 on Monday, Aug. 30 overwhelmingly re-elected Business Manager Terry McGowan to serve a third, three-year term as head of the statewide skilled trade union. McGowan defeated challenger Andrew Gehl 77.1 percent to 22.9 percent. All other candidates on the McGowan slate also were elected. Voter turnout was 42.6 percent. McGowan team overwhelmingly re-elected to third term
PEWAUKEE – The membership of Operating Engineers Local 139 has overwhelmingly re-elected Business Manager Terrance E. McGowan to serve a third, three-year term as head of the statewide skilled trade union.

I was afraid I would be wiped out because I hardly ever used the fund. I just never was sick much. But it has worked out fantastic for me because we're not broke. I was allowed to basically refer myself to the Mayo Clinic. I emailed the Mayo Clinic on a Sunday and the next day, I had an appointment set for that Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock. I had five weeks of radiation prior to three extremely large surgeries. I have $3,000 in out-of-pocket costs and I'm estimating I had medical bills of around $300,000. I'm totally happy with the health fund.
